How to calm a crying baby

Dr. Robert Hamilton is a pediatrician in California. After 30 years of practice, he has learned a surefire trick to calm a crying baby.

Here it is:

  1. Fold the baby’s arms across the chest
  2. Secure the arms gently with your hand
  3. Gently grasp diaper area with the palm of the hand
  4. Hold the baby at a 45 degree angle and gently rock the baby up and down.

If that does not work, two things should be considered: physical discomfort or hunger.

This method is only good for small babies up to 3 months old. If your baby is older than 3 months, he or she may be a little too heavy to be held in that position.
