Dr. Robert Hamilton is a pediatrician in California. After 30 years of practice, he has learned a surefire trick to calm a crying baby.
Here it is:
- Fold the baby’s arms across the chest
- Secure the arms gently with your hand
- Gently grasp diaper area with the palm of the hand
- Hold the baby at a 45 degree angle and gently rock the baby up and down.
If that does not work, two things should be considered: physical discomfort or hunger.
This method is only good for small babies up to 3 months old. If your baby is older than 3 months, he or she may be a little too heavy to be held in that position.
