Shen Yun’s opening performance in Thousand Oaks, California on March 28 was sold out.
Popular demand led the world-renowned classical Chinese dance show to schedule an additional performance on March 29, which also promptly sold out.
Audiences praised the show for its beauty and expressed wishes to see it again.
“The way they dance is just beautiful. Their costumes are so brightly colored. It is very different from anything I have ever seen before,” said Danila Cremona, an animal expert.
“I am thoroughly enjoying it. It is enlightening, it is beautifully choreographed, it is amazing to see the history that is unfolding, something I am not so aware of. But I am being enlightened tonight,” said retired business owner Barry Goodman.
“Absolutely amazing. The choreography, costuming, the subject matter—it was really amazing,” said photographer Ellen Demsky.
“Very, very nice. It was just elegant. Just beautiful,” said Richard Davis, a retired executive.
“It’s almost indescribable. It’s just so fantastic. It’s more than I ever expected. It leaves me with chills almost, it was just so nice,” said business owner Kathy Dell.
“Absolutely amazing,” said audience member Gail Hillesheim. “I can’t say enough adjectives. Absolutely incredible.”
For Hillesheim, a highlight of the show was the soprano.
“I mean she was just so beautiful and lyrical, and her range was so super. I mean she could break glass.”
Many audience members said they hope to return again.
“I am so glad I am here. We chose wisely to get the tickets. We were in the front row, and I am very excited. I would come back again next year to see it,” said Danila Cremona.
“Everybody should see it,” said Dell.
“Fantastic. We’d love to come again,” said audience member Valerie Davis.
“I will recommend it to anyone. I was thinking to people that I know, they must come to see it,” said Hillesheim.
Shen Yun will be performing next in Claremont, California.
