The performance of Shen Yun International Company on the evening of May 5, 2017, at NJPAC, was very well received. Daniel Hayes, the mayor of Bridgewater, New Jersey, said he felt the show was really amazing, leaving him with a good feeling afterward.
“The show was spectacular. It was an incredible combination of costume, choreography, music, all leaving you with a very serene and nice message of compassion, was a great show. I feel so good afterward. It was really amazing, ” he said.
Mr. Hayes loved the lyrics and the message of compassion they conveyed.
“So as my understanding of the lyrics is that, it’s that really we have a choice, as to how we live,” he added. “It’s whether we choose to be good, or act in the way of good, or act in the way of evil, but that defines us. So hopefully everybody knows the right choice. The choice is good, and goodness is compassion.”
He also felt that the whole performance was unbelievable.
“So watching the performance was really great. The costumes, the colors, the choreography, you feel one about the amazing depth of the culture, and of what you see in the dances, and then of course the breadth of the countryside, when they talk about the one being from Mongolia, one being from Han, so the sleeves, and then the flowers, and the incredible sense of timing that all the performers have is unbelievable, unbelievable. ”
He noticed that the strict training and incredible sense of timing of the performers.
“The performers you just absolutely see how much the training, how much the dedication they have to their craft. They seem to float, they seem to float from place to place, the jumping, the dancing, and the actual, increadible sense, I’ve mentioned before, of timing, the timing is just outstanding. They never miss a beat. ”
He admired the level of the orchestra as well.
“Yes, I love live orchestras, and I know there’s a lot of dedication. In my family, I have string players, and the dedication they have each of the performing, the level of the performers are here tonight, is really, something to be admired.”
He thanked all the performers of Shen Yun.
“To the artistic director, what an increadible job of the choreography. To the orchestra leader and the orchestra members, I say that their performances were outstanding. To all, I really want to say thank you. Thank you for giving me a fantastic evening. And I know that they’ve given a lot of people. A wonderful gift of an evening of entertainment, all because they have dedicated so much of their time to their craft. And I just say thank you.”
