NFL Quarterback Hits Back After Criticism Over ‘Hunting’ Dog

By Zack Stieber

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz hit back after criticism in response to his photo of his dog and some geese they hunted down together.

The star football player posted two pictures of his dog Mama Henley on Twitter on January 2, saying the canine is the “best dog and hunting buddy I could ask for!”

One of the photos showed the dog sitting next to a pile of dead geese.

Some people responded to criticize Wentz.

“20 dead birds? Did he eat all 20 of those or just shoot them for the heck of it?” said one.

Another added, “As a friend I wanted to quickly highlight that a man in your influential position might cause offence (sic) through the posting of your first picture. I support its sentiment however the context and content of the pic could offend.”

Wentz opted to respond.

“Appreciate that, but offensive and controversial? Two of the main things I tweet about are Jesus and huntin,” he said.

“That’s what I’m passionate about and that won’t ever change! When you love something, you talk about it! Stay convicted about it and don’t worry what others think!”
