Just when this young lady was about to be married, her father unexpectedly passed away, leaving the bride-to-be deep in sorrow. At her reception, her brother, who knew her pain only too well, found a way to redeem their loss with the most heartfelt, first-dance tribute.
Andrea was all set to marry the man of her dreams. She looked forward to their wedding with excitement, to sharing her big day with all of her family and friends and to having her dad walk her down the aisle. But before any of this could transpire, tragedy stuck; just before the day of her union, her father passed away from cancer.
After the ceremony, during the reception, Andrea’s brother took the mic just prior to what would have been the father-bride first dance. “We’re missing someone pretty important this evening that would be, obviously, here for the dance with his little girl.” Andrea bit her lip, as her brother heaved deeply, choking back and wiping tears from his eyes.
“So, I decided I wanted to do something special for Andrea and not only for Andrea but for dad,” he said. Her brother, first, announced that he had recorded the song in his own voice for the first dance. She was absolutely stunned, as she cupped her hand to her mouth tearfully.
Her brother, next, said that the men of the family would take turns filling in for what would have been her father’s honor, to dance with the bride. A wisp of a smile crossed her face as the senior gentleman of the family crossed the dance floor and welcomed her into his arms.
The beautiful song “Butterfly Kisses” told of the love between a father and a daughter. Andrea was completely overwhelmed when the first few bars sounded over the system. Her sorrow was met with pure love from the fellows, who each took their turn leading, while offering strength and support in place of her dear father, who was surely smiling down on her.
