Passengers Brace for Impact as Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Honolulu

A passenger took video as the occupants of a United Airlines flight braced for an emergency landing.

On its way from San Francisco to Honolulu, the cover of one of the engines blew off, USA Today reported. There were 363 passengers and 10 crew members aboard, Hawaii News Now reported.

The passengers stabilized themselves against the seats in front of them with their arms and put their heads down.

“They let us know that we had to brace for impact in case there was a rough landing. It was scary. But they did a really good job,” passenger Allison Sudiacal told Hawaii New Now.

The plane landed safely in Honolulu with emergency personnel on standby, on Feb. 13.
