A wallaby joey from Symbio Wildlife Park in New South Wales, Australia, takes its first glimpse of the outside world from its mother’s pouch.
The joey spent the last five months since birth inside the comfort of its mother’s pouch, before venturing outside.
According to National Geographic, wallabies are members of the kangaroo clan and are found primarily in Australia.
Joeys are born tiny and helpless, spending a couple of months in their mothers’ pouches where they continue to develop after birth.
Even after a joey leaves the pouch, they will often return to jump in when they believe danger is approaching.
