TMZ first reported that Tip “T.I.” Harris was arrested at around 4 a.m. on May 16 for an alleged simple assault, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness.
The rapper confronted a security guard at his gated community in Georgia after he and a friend were not allowed to enter the property without a key.
Although there was no physical contact, the guard feared he would be hit during the dispute, which, under Georgia law, constitutes simple assault.
The report confirmed that T.I. has since been released from jail without bail. He was charged with simple assault, public drunkenness, and disorderly conduct.
T.I.’s friend was arrested due to outstanding charges and not having proof of car insurance, Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
Later the same day, T.I. released cell phone video of himself joining a birthday party for his son.
