An Australian woman in Queensland was walking her dog on the morning of May 29 when she was met with an unexpected surprise of the most adorable kind.
“I was walking my dog, Koda, on a cold morning in Dalby when on my way home a mob of tiny kittens came out of the grass meowing,” she wrote in the description for a video uploaded by Viral Hog.
When Bree looked closer, to her astonishment, huddled in the long grass she counted 10 tiny fluffy kittens.
Not wanting to leave them there, and afraid that the vulnerable fur babies would get run over, she decided to take them home with her.
“Honestly, I thought they were little ferals coming out to attack my puppy and sort of stood back ’cause I thought mumma cat was going to come out, but they came right up, so I sat on the ground and they were purring and really hungry,” she said, reports News.com.au.
The problem was that she had nothing to put them in and she couldn’t possibly carry all 10 of them in her arms. She decided to go home and get her car, then return to fetch them all.
Afraid for the kittens, she briskly walked home in haste. That’s when she turned around and looked behind her. Lo and behold she saw the kittens bouncing along the road in pursuit—they were following her!
With a hop, skip, and a jump, all 10 tiny fur babies were coming after her.
Bree said, “I couldn’t carry them all so I started walking home and they all followed me about a kilometer.”
Not only were the clan of kittens following her, crows and sheep were following suit, she said amusingly.
Bree noticed the tiniest kitten, which was looking tired, falling behind the others, so she picked it up and carried the little thing in her hands. The little kitten quickly stole her heart, because she ended up keeping it.
Finally, Bree arrived home with all the kittens in tow—carrying her favorite.
She took them under her wing until each and every one were adopted into their own forever homes.
Bree was shocked to think that someone had so callously abandoned the helpless kittens by the roadside.
“I was disgusted that someone had just dumped them. If you can’t afford to desex your cat, or look after and find homes for kittens don’t own a cat.”
Thank goodness Bree is such a kindhearted person. It looks like the kittens chose her.
Bless her that she was in the right place at just the right time!
