A video showing a dog’s undying loyalty toward his master has gone viral, striking an emotional chord among social media users.
One day in late June, Faith Revilla witnessed a heartwarming sight while driving home with her husband in Davao City, Philippines.
She caught sight of a disabled man in a wheelchair, Danilo Alarcon, 46, making his way down Seminary Drive with the diligent support from his pet dog Digong.
“My initial reaction was that I was really emotional, I had goosebumps,” Revilla told ABS-CBN News.
Digong dutifully followed Alarcon, and along the way, the loyal dog used his head and snout to push his master’s wheelchair forward. Thanks to Digong’s assistance, the road trip was much easier for Alarcon.
Touched by what she saw, Revilla whipped out her phone to capture the scene.
Weeks later, on July 12, Revilla and her husband again met the adorable pair along Mabini Street. The couple pulled over, approached Alarcon for a chat and even treated him to a meal at their family restaurant.
Through the interaction, Revilla found out the 7-month-old Digong has been living with Alarcon since birth and that Alarcon was left paralyzed after sustaining a spinal injury in a motorcycle accident years ago.
Revilla then took to Facebook to share the heartwarming video.
“We felt blessed to have witnessed this extraordinary sight of an amazing creature helping its master maneuver his wheelchair along seminary drive. I mean, I thought it only happens in TV shows, [but] this [was a] very [real] scenario,” Revilla wrote.
“I’m out of words to describe my emotions right now. May the good Lord will [sic] bless them both,” she continued.
The footage has since gone viral, receiving over 101,000 views and more than 1,200 likes.
